A fair number of questions and answers with Cortez Alston (not verbatim):
Q: Being the newest recruit in the 2017 class, do you feel like you have already made some solid relationships with the other recruits in the class? How well did you know the fellow recruits before committing?
A: Yeah, I definitely do. We all have a group chat and I've been able to talk to the guys a lot more and have gotten to know them well. I didn't know many but I knew Jaytlin Askew and and Tre Swilling beforehand. I like getting to know them a lot.
Q: Growing up and attending high school in the Atlanta area, did you begin following Tech when they offered you, or has your affiliation with GT been a long time coming?
A: Honestly, Tech was my childhood team and me being a part of their program seemed to be destiny.
Q: You currently attend Westminster, which is one of the high schools selected to journey to Ireland to play their season-opener. Did you happen to catch the Tech game while you were there? How was that overall experience?
A: Yeah, I did. That was a great experience. Being able to watch the sport I love in another country was amazing. I loved the entire experience.
Q: Do you know where the coaches want you playing on the defensive line, or is there another position altogether that the coaches want you to play?
A: Strong-side defensive end.
Q: What was the tipping point in choosing Tech over other colleges that offered? Do you have a particular major in mind, or have you not yet chosen? And on a scale of 1-10, how excited are you to be a part of this recruiting class and coming to Tech?
A: I'm not sure if there was really a tipping point; GT just gradually grew on me. Economics and definitely a 10.
