Brock Mattison is getting into the rotation at Buford and was recently announced as a 3-star recruit. He is fully recovered from a foot injury he suffered last season. The 6’2″, 225-pound junior LB visited UNC last weekend and plans to take in the GT vs. Miami game this Saturday.

Mike Barrett, a Lowndes junior quarterback, plans to visit Georgia Tech this weekend. He let us know that the Jackets are recruiting him at QB, RB and SS so far. Barrett had a very impressive performance a few weeks back against Newton, when he went 15-of-18 passing for 243 yards and rushed for 112 yards.

Luke Shiflett from Northwest Whitfield has had a dominating start to the year so far. The 2018 signal-caller has thrown for over 1500 yards and in just the last 2 games he has gone off – according to his head coach Josh Robinson, Shiflett has completed 38/55 passes (69.1% with 4 drops), 7 touchdowns and only 1 INT. The 2018 dual threat QB has received a fair amount of FBS interest so far but only a few schools (Troy) have offered. Georgia Tech, Miss State, Southern Miss, Marshall, Ohio, Jacksonville State, Western Kentucky, Tulane all have shown heavy interest too.
Mykel Tubbs has been named Offensive Player of the Week at Holy Innocents’ over consecutive weeks now. The 2018 wide receiver is making a good comeback from last season and showcases incredible ability to go up and snag jump balls. A few Power 5 programs have shown interest, including local teams Georgia Tech and Georgia.

He's listed on 247 as a hard commit, but GT is not giving up the fight. Can't remember who else was challenging for him, might be U. of L.?
