G.T. Football Recruiting, 2017, (24).

Wants to be a RB, attended & impressed with V.Tech running game vs. UVA. Should come down to GT if he wants to stay at home or those Hokies if going out of state....

Jalen Holston, Stockbridge.

Praying for this young man. Terrible tragedy!
I wonder if we offered Jerry after we found that MM wasn't coming back.

MM was a last minute decision with his family. He actually changed his mind the night before from what has been rumored.

I believe they were going to offer Jerry as a LBer as well, although as it turns out this might have been better for him because he really wanted to play on offense in the backfield.

I said in a few or more pages back during this thread, how afraid I was of Tucker and Askew. Think it overlapped with a WBB recruit in another thread considering us.

Now sitting at 11 to give with this and the Philpott transfer. With more attrition likely to follow, we need to hit at a high rate with the top targets on our big board.

Disappointing news with Demetris Harris. Based on the schools he's now listing, we might speculate an academic issue.

Also I heard a Berry freshman is planning to transfer to GT and walk-on. Obie Brannon from Cherokee HS in Canton. He kicked and punted for Berry at the end of the season after their senior kicker had an injury. He was named SAA player of the week several times. On FG he was 5/6 with a long of 43. He made all 11 XPA attempted in 4 games.

GT's going to have plenty of space on the 85 man roster. Typically the team sees a couple players leave the team or graduate in spring. Maybe not this year? they may all be making the move early.

Love his comments:

The Yellow Jackets lose their leader for the past three seasons, Justin Thomas. Thus, Oliver joins a group consisting of redshirt sophomore Matthew Jordan and numerous underclassmen to compete for the job. Thomas will be hard to replace, but Oliver believes that there will be no regression and that the program’s future is bright.

“I’ll try my best to perfect the offense, and I’ve been talking to other commits with the same mission,” Oliver said. “I definitely feel like an ACC championship is in the making.”
