G.T. Football Recruiting, 2017, (24).

Schools such as Georgia Tech, Kentucky, Louisville and USF have all recruited Owens for different spots. While Owens remains committed to the Knights after pledging in the summer, he hasn’t ruled anything out.

“Anything can really happen, there’s really not any certain school sticking out and it’s just one of those things where anything can happen,” Owens said. “I’m not gonna tell any school oh I’m not seeing your school so I’m not coming there, no school is in front of any school.”

“I talk to N.C state a lot, I talk to the Georgia Tech coaching staff. I also talk with Kentucky a lot, I speak with Kentucky on a regular basis and also the coach from Louisville, he came down to watch game last Thursday,” Owens said.

Soft commit, now a decommit-
Looks like the GT staff has cut ties with OJ Tucker. He was turned off by how many DB's we've recruited and have commitments from. He will be taking all four visits left.

Good Buddha!

There are 4 DB positions, nickel and dime, and special teams loaded with DB's. Sounds like an excuse.

Realizing we have had great guys from Orlando up through Jacksonville(like Dez White), but in the name of Savannah's never nervous Pervis Ellison, what is going on lately down there with our fortunes?

Still hoping Demetris Harris is solid.

It's a bizarre excuse if real. Does this young man think GT - or ANY other program - is going to stop or slow down recruitment of defensive backs? I have never been one for the "wouldn't make our scout team" angle except when using for sarcastic attempts at humor of course or the like, but this young man probably isn't cut out for Tech. And, quite frankly, again assuming this is one of his primary reasons for discontinuing his desire for Tech, he is in for a world of hurt at ANY program if his specification is minimal to no recruiting at "his position" after he commits to wherever.

Best for both sides (especially us) and good luck to him. I can understand this more in hoops with far smaller rosters and fewer positions such as a point guard, btw. Or, perhaps at a specialized position like QB or PK or P even in FB where there is one position on the field. But DB's who play 5-6 positions and contribute heavily in special teams? No way.

This. He can offer whatever comment he wants, but we can't say a word. There's a stink here. I wish him the best.

Not only do I fully agree with the above mentioned 5 or 6 positions this athlete could play, but remember the injuries back there. Good P5 programs go at least two-deep, have speed on Special Teams. CLO had to speak to that, if he insisted on playing as a true freshman. To get familiar with the "speed of the game", most everyone back there start on ST-something Coach Owens is taking pride in, beyond what CRR thought of them before being replaced.

Leonard Warner coming to GT this weekend on an unofficial visit.
------------------------------------------------
Brady Scott(USC-East, baseball commit), commits to F$U Football as an OL. He had an offer from GT, on a previous page in this thread.

Leonard Warner, got a lot of special treatment on the sidelines by CTR, CAM, before the Ga. Southern game on Grant Field in BDS.

Cortez Alston is visiting ND on 10-29-16. Looks like Cal. and GT will also be getting official visits.

I would scratch Penn., G'town., Tenn., others, off the final list.

GT still in the picture for Malik Willis, but here are two reasons they are hedging their bets with other targets at said position:

CTR realizes that Tre Swilling is still being recruited by a lot of schools, himself. So he keeps in daily contact, as Tre considers himself family and states "he knows I'm coming in".
