The four-star prospect tweeted: "With very careful consideration I have decided to commit to Georgia Tech and continue the Swilling Legacy that my father and uncles started. There was no other place that could give me more motivation then playing in their shadows and working to standout as they did in their time.

"Being able to run out on the field and look up to my father's name on the HOF banner will serve as a constant reminder of the hard work and effort it takes to be great on and off the field!"

Excellent!!! This class is really shaping up to be a very special one. Can't believe yet another Swilling will be wearing the white and gold! Perhaps, two!

USC recruiter Bobby Bentley saw LB TJ Minniffee of Lebanon, TN in a camp near Nashville in June and verbally offered him soon after. Minniffee later attended a camp in Columbia where he worked out in front of Will Muschamp and the defensive coaches. The interest is still there between the two parties.

"I'm still talking to them," Minniffee said. "They know that I'm not really looking to make a decision anytime soon. I'll probably go thru all of my officials and make my decision then."

Minniffee said he's hearing from Bentley and the Gamecock coach, according to Minniffee, hasn't really pushed for a decision from him.

Minniffee said he's looking at USC, Texas A&M, Georgia Tech, Tennessee, Louisville and Cincinnati for his official visits. He said Cincinnati and UAB have been talking to him strongly of late and Texas A&M recruiter John Chavis plans to scout his first game.

Minniffee said there is no leader but he does like Cincinnati a lot.

Scout reporting on Bruce Jordan-Swilling being committed to GT. It looks very favorable, however better to await the official announcement. As we now know, some of these young men prefer an announcement that they are committing later in the week, prior to the announcement that is really unofficial without signing a letter. When some decommit, that provides an announcement which precedes two more announcements before signing day. Of course multiple decommits bring on the totality of several composite announcements. Here is what Scout has:

Before announcing the commitment to the Yellow Jackets, Swilling hinted that he and his brother, running back/linebacker Bruce Jordan-Swilling, would have some big news soon.

Jordan-Swilling told NOLA.com | The Times-Picayune he will commit "later in the week."

LSU, Alabama, USC, Oklahoma, UCLA, Florida, Georgia, Arkansas, Georgia Tech and Florida State make up Jordan-Swilling's top 10 list.

Two brothers who care about each other and wants the other to have his day in the spotlight . To me this is a sign of two young man who will think of the team first. Here is hoping we get both.

That's a great attitude. Hope they are really recruiting hard now.

With our two recruits this week from New Orleans, and having given to Katrina relief efforts in the past....it seems like the right time to donate to the more than 100,000 people affected by the floods in Baton Rouge and Denham Springs(President Obama is present today per the Governors request, after he declared it a disaster area last week, sending FEMA in with Federal funding). Many homes do not have flood insurance and the short term money will run out. 13 citizens died.

If you desire to give, here is the link:

And now we have both Swillings , this is great news. Question is will he play defense ( for GTJT ) or offense for me.

Linebacker!!!!

Woohoo.

TD Roof...LB...B Jordan-Swilling...LB...Tre Swilling...DB.

Real football players.

:p

It's was fun in 83-84-and 85 to watch Swilling and Roof play and now we get to watch again

Amen, brotha!

The 2 best defenses I've ever seen at Tech ('85 and '90) each had a Swilling starring on them. The best defense I've ever seen at Tech ('85) had a Roof on it.

What a great boost to recruiting. Hopefully, this leads to some more big timers to get on board. Can we find a DE that may not have Swilling on the back of his jersey, but who can play like Pat.

Excellent! Love to see this happen. Cooksey, Roof, and now the Swilling sons. That is awesome to see. Carrying on the tradition as Tech men. Very excited to see this happen. Happy for them and for CPJ and coaches.

Well done, men!

Our recent recruits are following him and twittering his account. You can see his next game tomorrow night(I will be viewing Air Supply at Woodruff Arts Center, please keep me posted):

Jackets still pushing for Bama LB:
4-star Ala.(Murphy H.S.)LB Kendric Haynes, will turn his attention to having a big senior season. Recruiting put on back burner per Rivals.

Blue chip LB Leonard Warner wants to get an engineering degree in college... https://www.dawgnation.com/football...rget-leonard-warner-gets-closer-to-his-choice

The big factors in Warner’s decision

He aims to major in engineering and said Georgia Tech would be the best academic fit at the next level. Georgia does offer a degree in mechanical engineering which would suit him on that front.

“Trying to find better ways to make things go,” Warner said. “Like propulsion and creating energy.”

Warner is very studious, but the degree is just one of several factors regarding his choice.

“It is definitely going to be a hybrid,” Warner said. “It is a four-year decision that sets up a 40-year decision for my lifetime and my career. But at the same time if I’m miserable for four years I won’t enjoy that. I will regret it. I want to be sure I go to a place where I can see myself having fun, getting my education and living well for four years, too.”

Good things happen when Swillings play for GA Tech. Last time we had two of them at the same time, we won an MNC. 25 years ago. For this reason, I'm pumped. I'll likely not be around when the next crop comes through.
