AJC At it Again on Ugag

Sorry about the paywall, but the headline says what's going on . . . Implies NCAA violations . . .

FOOTBALL RECRUITING Final 2024 State Rankings Out..

Georgia Tech signed two of the state of Georgia's top 50 recruits, six of the top 100.

I expect both of those numbers to (at least) double in the 2025 class.

Also of note-
RB signee Anthony Carrie finished as the No. 22 player in Florida
CB signee Troy Stevenson finished as the No. 5 player in South Carolina
OL signee Kai Greer finished as the No. 12 player in North Carolina
DT signee Landen Marshall finished as the No. 31 player in Alabama
LB signee Tah'j Butler finished as the No. 27 player in Louisiana

Falcon HC or Tech DB Coach First?

CBK is being meticulous in his search for a new DBs coach while Authur Blank is apparently trying to decide if he's willing to supersede McKay to hire CBB or keep McKay and hire someone else. As we all watch these searches I thought it would be interesting for those here on JOL to offer their prediction on which hire will be made first - Tech DB Coach or Falcons HC?
My guess is Tech will have a DB Coach first

Karl Brown - GT basketball

For some reason, Karl Brown came to mind today. He may not have had the raw talent of someone like Kenny Anderson, but he made up for it with hustle and hard work on defense. Sort of Alvarado like, though Jose shoots better.

Brown is coaching in the UK:

I believe that I read he was the first Brit to play in the Final Four.

FOOTBALL Great old article on Tech's 7-6 win over Alabama and Joe Namath

Every now and then, the Tech Football Facebook group actually comes up with something good. This is an excellent article on the 1962 Tech/Bama game, and it also discusses the previous year's infamous Holt-Graning incident. This whole situation had about as much to do with us leaving the SEC as the scholarship issues.

It cites a fact that in 1959, a whopping EIGHTEEN players died playing football! It's unbelievable the level of brutality that was accepted back then. Today, by the time the third kid died the whole sport would be suspended; and rightly so.
