Memphis AD moved quickly there. Smith moved on from Tejas Tech aafter only 3 seasons. His stays seem to be getting shorter with every new spot. I wonder if he'll get win 600 at Memphis?

I hear they are guaranteeing him 3 million per year X 5. I wouldn't take Smith over CJP if they were paid the same.
It averages a bit more than that:
"Texas Tech coach Tubby Smith is the new men's basketball coach at Memphis, agreeing to a five-year, $15.45 million deal."

What is sad to hear about the old staff was that they felt forced to use MGH at the point out of necessity, instead of their own intelligent volition.
Yep. No question about it. As Texwood has accurately pointed out (IMO) many times, it is equally sad that it took the staff two-thirds of the way into the season to figure it out.
After East Tenn. St., he was leaving for the locker room with an ice/trainers' pack on that hip. Said he didn't want to make excuses. That is about the same time I threw my hands up around the back of my head. Change was needed on the Flats.
