After a three-day break, Georgia Tech's football team hit the practice field on Tuesday to begin preparations for Duke. The break was for the players only according to head coach Paul Johnson.
"We came out of this game pretty good (injury wise)," Johnson said after Tuesday's practice session. "We didn't get anyone seriously hurt we still have some lingering injuries."
Among those battling injuries are starting offensive tackles Andrew Marshall (ankle), Trey Klock (ankle), starting corner Step Durham (reinjured his ankle in the GSU game) and P.J. Davis (hamstring)
"I didn't have any down time. We came in on Sunday and started breaking down Duke and did the same thing yesterday. I went to Macon last night for the Touchdown Club, so we don't have any down time," he said.
The team will practice through Friday and then the Jackets will have the weekend off.
The players of the game were Ricky Jeune (offense), Corey Griffin (defense) and Shaun Kagawa (special teams).

CPJ said that the 3rd down defense is still bad needs to be improved the most on that side of the ball. Said he was pleased that they made some negative plays which was great, but the eyes still get them in the wrong place at times defensively. Said the tackling needs to be better, but they still aren't giving up big plays.
Said other teams are doing to GT what they do and they can't take as many chances on offense. Said that could change overnight and the defense can play better. Said there are some games the offense has been bad like that on 3rd down too which hasn't helped the defense.
CPJ said that tempo slowing down and number of plays is a function of getting in and out of the huddle faster along with it taking longer with the no-huddle plays.
CPJ said he had no idea how GSU lined up, said after he saw how they lined up, he was going to go back to the huddle.
CPJ said joked about going up to the box if the team doesn't start playing better.
CPJ said the inside the tackle blocking on the offense needs to be improved as well as the one thing on offense he'd like to see improve the most. Said the inside blocking will get better as the freshmen keep playing.
CPJ said offensive efficiency was good in the GSU game, scored on 3 of 5 1st half possessions and missed a short FG. Said they scored on 3 of 4 in the second half excluding the last drive when they had Matt Jordan run out the clock. Scored 5 of 7 or 8, should've been 6 of 8, 6 of 9 against Pitt, said they have to keep building, said Duke is better on defense than either Pitt or GSU.
CPJ said that Parker Braun and Jahaziel Lee played well, didn't have many mental mistakes. Lee had only two missed assignments, CPJ said that Lee is the starter until he is beaten out.
Lee said he was really relaxed knowing he would play the whole game and that made him play better.
CBC said that Justin Thomas got in some hot water with the staff over his slide against GSU when he didn't make it to the sticks. CBC would elaborate on it, but if he had gotten the first down it was less of an issue. Said he should've been able to make the guy miss anyways.
CBC said he was really proud of Dedrick's block on the fake pitch rollout that JT scored on. Said they don't practice that play a ton and that was the first time he ever had to do that.
CBC said it was about time MM and Mills went over 150, said Marshall should've had a 50-plus yard run three plays before he did.
JT and CMS said that the counter option plays were a little funky and that is why they missed some big plays with it and had a couple of negative plays. Said they also didn't have the correct numbers to run it one of the times it was blown up.
CMS said that Lee played way better, very pleased with him. Said Shamire Devine played his most snaps of the year, but really faded in the second half when they pulled him for Will Bryan. Said they thought about moving Will out to OT, but since Marshall and Klock are not out for an extended period it made more sense to keep him inside for now.
Parker Braun was really funny, said Duke DL wasn't super athletic, said he has had trouble sleeping lately and he was cracking some funny jokes today. See the audio for more.
CPJ said the Ryan Rodwell is punting better, said the blocking almost let one of his punts get blocked.
Justin Thomas said that he feels really well rested and strong at this point in the season.
Jahaziel Lee says he is developing a real love for playing OL.
