Thanks to Maryland, NC State, Georgia Tech, Furman, and Tulane for coming by the @GreenforestBall for workouts today!

Edited to say: "per Coach Thompson", on the tweet.
Twitter must be making some changes. Having trouble copying a few of the "open accounts", on the header left corner.

Edited: These are the schools that dropped by Norcross H.S., yesterday. In the other later year recruiting threads, we've added a few Norcross H.S. recruits that GT is on-without listing their school(N.H.S.).

Quote from Ikey Obiagu:
Georgia Tech: “I’ve been on an official visit to them. They are only 35 minutes away from home. I like the new coaches they got…Usually takes long for the head coach to start recruiting you but with him he didn’t. He started recruiting me really quick. We’ve had a long discussion about how he was going to develop me and they don’t have a lot of bigs so I’m going to play right away there.”

Collin Sexton is a program changer. At a blue blood, he just continues their excellence. At Georgia Tech or any other struggling program, he's a changer. Ala Mark Price or Shawn Jones or Jason Varitek in GT Athletics mold.

He's one of those guys who will come right in and be a star from Day 1. He's *THAT* talented. He has the ability to take over games with the ball in his hands and he will make those around him elevate their games as well. I know our odds of landing him are not high, perhaps not even moderate, but it's good to know we are at least in the running and he is at least mentioning us. Thanks for linking that tweet, mate. Does my heart good to know a program changer at least has us on the radar.

It might not happen this class - then again, maybe it will - but soon enough, I think CJP and his staff's tireless diligence will start paying off in recruiting.

2017-
Isaiah Miller, (Covington, Ga.)Newton County H.S.

There was a buzz after the event that centered around Miller. The 6-1 point guard recently transferred to Newton County High School and is set to make noise alongside of guards Ashton Hagans (2019) and JD Notae (2017). Miller is an athletic guard and he showed that he could boom a powerful dunk on a baseline drive better than anyone in the camp. Miller is a near force of nature as a ball handler, which makes him very tough to contain in the open court. It is on the defensive end that Miller may have even more upside than most realize. His quickness and strength could make him a lock down defender at the next level.

Very good to hear. Looks like the coaches are really after him hard.

As GTJT622 has stated on here about Collin Sexton and Wendell Carter, they are program changers. Who knows if Collin committing early could entice W.C.?

Whether we sway either of them, the facts are the previous regime was not in the picture at all. I spoke with people at Pace Academy the last few seasons while watching their star performer. Word was that we sent letters like 200 plus other schools, then gave up. Or we showed up with an Asst. Coach, one time for a look see. They also felt Collin was "unattainable" according to another source, and that was before he absolutely sky rocketed.

It is wise to keep a couple open 'ships for 2018, as that should be our mark. I can see the 2019 class starting to be a small rival to this loaded 2017 locally, as we can solidify our presence in being a force in this state again(opposed to the "Bloods" pilfering it at random). CER has an International standing for reserve feeding. Remember those guys look at the educational opportunities harder than a won/loss record.

CJP knows full well how loaded his own backyard is in terms of recruiting. When he was at Memphis, he knew it (ATL loaded) and I think that was one of many things which made the Tech job attractive to him.

While we may strike out on this loaded '17 bevy of stars in the ATL - maybe we won't, I hope not - the double whammy benefit of landing Sexton or the like is it puts a helluva stake into the ground regarding Tech taking back over as the premier program in the state and one which kids grow up wanting to be a part of - like the better days of the Cremins and Hewitt eras.

Rivals crystal ball has 4 out of 4, stating Wendell Carter to Duke. 3 have Collin Sexton to Ala., 1 has him going to Kansas.
Dan McDonald has MJ Walker attending Ga. Tech.

In front of West Stands on sidewalk 30 minutes before GT-Vandy Football game, some of us gathered with CJP and the coaching staff for a pregame chat. Nice of them to give of their time, and bee on campus supporting the other athletes at Tech.
