As a longtime fan (Bud Carson was the head football coach my freshman year), I have experienced many ups and downs over the years highlighted by the 1991 Citrus Bowl in my hometown of Orlando and the resulting National Championship. I try to enter each season with an optimistic yet realistic outlook, which was increasingly difficult to do during the previous regime. But what Coach Key has done--creating a positive message of toughness, upgrading the offensive staff before last season and the defensive staff this season, the development of depth at multiple positions, and the bonding and love of team evident in the players, has me more optimistic this year than in a very long time. I am even reminded of the Jonathan Dwyer quote from 2009 when he said that they were going "to make some history and shock the world"
I hope that we see evidence of that tomorrow.
