This is the time every single one of us needs to do their part to get people to subscribe. Bear with me.

Options:
$10/ month
$50/month
$100/month

I did some quick math. And yes these are hypotheticals but if we can try to give effort to it, it’s not impossible.

And if you got negative comments, just save it.

One of the GT groups on facebook has 13.2k members. Let’s just assume half are alumni. So 6.6k.

There are 172k GT alumni.

18.4k undergrad students.

1309 GT faculty

TBD # of JOL members.

Perfect world: everyone signed up for $10

GT alumni: $1.72m/month $20.64m/year

GT students: $184k/month $2.2m/year

GT FB group: $66k/month $792k/year

GT faculty: $13k/month $156k/year

JOL $TBD

Total: $1.98m/month $23.8m/year

More realistic: let’s say 1/2 of this happens

Total: $990k/month $11.9m/year

That would easily give us a top 5 ACC/ top 25 roster talent wise.

don’t tell me it can’t be done. Just need to put in the work to reach out to them. Try and convince them. The kids want to come here. Just need the money.

If you’ve already said it, then disregard:

Are you able to tell us who you voted for in the ACC awards/ All-Conference teams?

KQ- I don't have a vote for that for football. I vote for men's hoops. I'm not sure who the GT market voters are.

Is RJ alive or did the Q&A and portal chatter vaporize him?

KQ- I think he melted

You might’ve already said this - What player is a good comparison for Aaron Philo? In other words.. when you watch him play, what former/current college QB does he remind you of?

KQ- That is a good question. I'm not really sure. The one that popped to my head immediately was Colt McCoy at Texas though I think Philo has better arm strength and touch on his deep ball.

Also, is this your favorite time of the year?

KQ- Ehh, no I'm getting pulled in twenty different directions.

How many eligible scholarship players are we going to have for the Bowl Game.....worded differently......Any clue how many players are hitting the portal before the bowl game that play?

KQ- No clue, they'll have enough to play a game but less than a full roster.

How does GT match up with ______ in the ______ Bowl? How much have you seen of them this year, have they lost any of their key pieces to the portal since the end of the regular season, and what is your early lean on the game?

KQ- Playing UCF and it looks like it could be a track meet. UCF has had a bunch of dudes go into the portal so that is something I'm keeping an eye on. They have some NIL shortcomings and that is biting them with kids right now.

Was looking back to see if I could find it but had trouble searching but are they any guys who walked on Senior day last year that still have eligibility next year?

KQ- KJ Wallace, D'Quan Douse and Billy Ward. I think KJ might come back. I think Douse may have something lined up outside of football like a job he is looking at. Billy is done here.

Damon give any indication why Nait didn’t start getting into the rotation until Cincy and then starting vs. Miss St? Seemed like a natural leader on the court vs Miss St.

KQ- Amaree Abram is really good, he just played very poorly and probably needs to play more off the ball but they are not going to pull Miles or Kowacie to do that right now. Nait is a little wild which you saw with some of the choices he made and his shot needs work and his one-on-one defense needs some work, that is why he was not in the rotation at the jump.

Meant to ask this earlier but the Michigan flyover last weekend reminded me

How do flyovers for games get coordinated? Is that something GT requests and pays for? Who decides what gets flown and from what branch?

KQ- I don't know the answer to that question. I'm happy to do some digging if I can remember. Circle back if I don't have an answer next week and I'll try to find out.

I'm not asking you to single anyone out, but how would you grade the talent out vs expected talent in for the guys who announced they were leaving?

KQ- I think you guys were expecting some mass exodus or something. It has been very marginal so far. The deepest cuts the past few cycles other than Gibbs happened in the spring/post-bowl games window.

It would seem like a couple of the guys are big losses but you both seem bullish on the incoming class so far.

KQ- Who is a big loss? Kenan Johnson is a solid corner with off the field issues and injury problems galore. He has been hurt as much as he has been healthy during his career here and that is why he hasn't played consistently. Kyle Kennard's stats outside of the Wake and SC State games were 1.5 sacks, 1 FF, 1 FR in 10 games plus all the drive-killing penalties and missed sacks and missed TFLs on RBs/QBs. I love Kyle but there is a reason he doesn't have much going on yet.

Administrative question. Does it benefit you if a JOL pays monthly or annually? I have been a monthly sub for about 2 years and probably should go annual but just haven’t.

KQ- I make more money off monthly. The reason we push the annual is it takes out the credit card situation for 11 months out of the year meaning that I don't have to worry about you changing cards and forgetting to update or your card gets stolen or whatever.

Can we get a sticky thread just for food arguments. chicken sandwiches, taco/hot dog/quesadilla/pizza.

I believe these topics were left unfinished and need to continue,

and I can't believe no one brought Calzones into it.....

KQ- Perhaps.

how huge is it that we are keeping Sylvian considering the Kyle Kennard departure. when do you expect the people that are down due to torn acls to comeback

KQ- I don't count anyone as for sure being on the team anymore until that spring portal window closes. Leo Blackburn should be a full go for spring. I'm unsure on the timeline for Sylvain but I would think he would be at least running by then.

I feel like I’m just waking up to portal, or maybe just now care given we haven’t been to a bowl game in 5 years.

What is the reason the portal opens before bowl games? It seems to even further deteriorate the meaning of bowl games (which I feel has already been hurt by the CFP).

Also, seems like a lot of coaches were let go this year. Given that players get a free transfer portal opportunity if a coach leaves, do we think coaches are going to have more longevity now at programs? Doesn’t seem to be the case this year, but programs who fired coaches are getting shredded.

KQ- You don't get a free transfer portal opportunity if your coach leaves, what you get is an opportunity to enter the portal in a 30-day window. The transfer rules still apply.

As to why it is before the bowl game, that is simply because of the early signing period.

ACC Commish is Pissed

“It’s unfathomable that Florida State, an undefeated Power Five conference champion, was left out of the College Football Playoff. Their exclusion calls into question the selection process and whether the Committee’s own guidelines were followed, including the significant importance of being an undefeated Power Five conference champion. My heart breaks for the talented FSU student-athletes and coaches and their passionate and loyal fans. Florida State deserved better. College football deserved better.”

HOOPS Baye Ndongo Named ACC Rookie of the Week

Freshman forward helped Tech down two top-25 teams last week

Charlotte, N.C. – After helping lead Georgia Tech to a pair of victories over top-25 teams last week, including a 21-point performance in the Yellow Jackets’ Atlantic Coast Conference opener against No. 7 Duke, freshman forward Baye Ndongo has been named the ACC Rookie of the Week.

Ndongo made 9-of-11 shots from the floor in Tech’s 72-68 win over the Blue Devils Saturday, including a layup that tied the game at 68-all with 1:20 remaining, then a dunk for the go-ahead points with 44 seconds on the clock. In between, Ndongo made a steal to prevent one possible Duke score, then blocked a shot in the paint to prevent another with three seconds remaining. The 6-9 native of Mboro, Senegal added five rebounds, two assists and a steal, and blocked four shots in the game.

Earlier in the week, Ndongo had three assists, six rebounds, two steals and a blocked shot to help the Jackets upend No. 21 Mississippi State in the ACC/SEC Challenge.

For the week, Ndongo averaged 11.5 points, 5.5 rebounds and hit 10-of-18 shots from the floor. He added five assists, three steals and five blocked shots, and turned the ball over just once in each game.

Tech returns to action Tuesday night at 7:30 p.m., taking on Georgia at Stegeman Coliseum in Athens. The game will be televised on the SEC Network.

Boo Corrigan is the worst sports exec in the history of athletics

I hope NCST never wins a damn thing as long as he is there. The goal for the rest of the conference should be to destroy them in every sport possible!

1. As discussed as the committee head he basically secured the ACC’s fate by giving Bama/Texas those spots. Do you think if any SEC exec was heading that committee he/she would allowed that to happen to FSU?
2. He states the reason for Liberty to get the NY6 spot because they just win (Unlike FSU?) meanwhile not considering SMU (who just happens to be one of our newest conference members). Have you looked at Liberty’s strength of schedule lately?
3. He now promotes an environment where injuries are celebrated and where a starting QB has to apologize to his fanbase for not getting injured sooner?
4. He hired Todd Stansbury to run his football program while he was committee head?
5. His decision basically made a statement to the GT’s of the world…we don‘t give a crap about you and never will. President Cabrera’s statement was spot on this morning…this is an indirect shot at us.
6. He basically caved to Paul Finebaum who I now see as the Vince McMahon of college football. He runs the show.

Boo you are a disgrace to the sports world. Go to hell and take the Pack with you.

12-Team CFP Question/Scenario

I was thinking about it last night. Next year, in a 12-team playoff, you have the potential to have the top 5 conference champions, and then the next best 7 teams….that would be 5 Big 10 teams, 4 SEC teams, an ACC team, a Big 12 team and another random conference champion. Oklahoma and Ole Miss would be out the outside looking in. There’s so much priority placed on those two leagues that they get preference and seeding bias whether they are good or not.

Next year there will be an argument that, in the same situation, FSU should rest all their starters and let Louisville win the game, because it will guarantee the ACC has two teams in the playoff. Conference championships won’t matter, only the rankings will.

What’s the incentive (other than a potential first round bye) to go all out in the Championship games?

FOOTBALL Key talks about GT going to the Gasparilla Bowl to play UCF

Special guest Harper in her pretty princess outfit and crown.

Excited for our team to continue our season and right now and play in a bowl game and to go down to Tampa and play a quality opponent in the game. It is something, I want to see our team not satisfied with getting to a bowl game, but building on the second part of the season and what we want it to be. This is something, we’ve got to continue the season. Last week was still in season. We will start practicing this week and moving into the weekend and then on the site of the bowl game as a continuation of the season. The biggest thing is for these seniors. They’ve done a lot for this program and this team and get a chance to play in a bowl game, the bowl game is a chance to build for the future and that is part of it, but make no mistakes it is about the seniors that have been here four, five, six years and they’ve done a great job of leading us all year and being strong in the locker room when coaches are not around.

Looking forward to playing a great opponent, it is not about who we play but making the most out of it and taking the older guys and preparing to play in a football game. Gasparilla Bowl is under a different name, I’ve gone there a couple of different times.

On keeping up with the bowl projections, not one bit or one second. The last hour I probably have, we have a lot going on in CFB and it is getting pretty busy and recruiting and having official visitors and unofficial visitors and out on the road.

We will play in that game and I coached at that school and went there with them and it is a chance to begin breakdowns and working on breaking down the games.

On bowl practices, 15 is the number of days, but it could be more or less, I want to be able to get our guys early on in shape so they hone their skills and get guys in great situational football like 3rd downs and red area and two minute and four minute situations and the first week will be good on good then a lot time on developmental games. The game is a on Friday and we will back it up one day and go from there.

On facing UCF, my alma mater versus my wife’s, but we are very united as one.

On playing in a bowl game out of the area, it is a big thing and our friends are staying in their own backyard, it is an experience of getting to extend the season. I think it is ludicrous people think there are too many bowl games. To be a coach sitting at home you would think a lot differently. To be at home to develop our team and to get one more game.

On getting early enrollees, we’ve talked about it, it would be a push to get them in and the guys would love to be it depends on the last finals and their graduation date.

On staff changes, I don’t think I’ve ever been on one staff without one.

On playing UCF, the greatest connection I have was meeting my wife down there and starting our family down there and my oldest dog down there. I have a lot of good friends and great relationships and we had some former players from UCF here last week that I coached. Building relationships.

On FSU, they went through that last year on their third QB and the adversity they went through, if you want to mark the good sign of a good football team, you lose two QBs and played well against a well-coached team. There are people who have to make those decisions, but as a casual observer and a massive fan of the game of football, I hate it for Florida State and Mike and his players.

FOOTBALL Bowl Presser delayed

At 6 pm they will cancel and reschedule for tomorrow. The ACC has a bunch of stuff going on trying to fill slots because of FSU not making the playoffs. I had a source tell me that he expects the ACC to file a lawsuit over FSU getting screwed (we shall see) but all the bowls are up in the air except the ones formally announced.
