What were your realistic expectations for this defense? I expected better than we are getting. I believed the hype of #6, #10 and #11. All 3 are bust so far. I was watching the game Saturday night thinking "This defense is worse than it was under Johnson" and that would be hard to do. Then got to looking at what we actually have on the field. It's not a roster of defensive All Americans for sure.
Below is what we have for our ATL players. Most are not very highly rated using Rival Rankings. The ones that are higher end for us are very young.
Our Junior and Seniors were rated... 5.2 trans (#6) , 5.2 walk on (#0), 5.6 (#4), 5.7 trans (#10), 5.5 qb (#17), 5.6 (#25), 5.5 (#1), 5.4 (#2) , 5.8 (#3), 5.5 qb (#8)
So far it looks like most transfers, transfer because they aren't living up to their expectations and try to move back home to TRY to reinvent themselves (without much success).
Below is what we have done against the schools that we have played relative to their stats for the year. About as average as it gets. Horrible in the PITT and UVA games. The rest are a little better than average for the most part. On a positive note, we have a much easier task left than what we have played. Let's hope we get better and win 3 to 4 more games.
