Georgia Tech is hosting top OL target Patrick Kearns (Darlington Academy) today. The Jackets are currently in the top spot for Kearns.

Next week Luke Elder (La Grange HS) will be back on campus. GT could vault into the top spot if they show him some love. SC and UNC are the other two finalists.

If they can land Kearns, Elder and Chander Reeves (ECLA), GT would be in really good shape. Parker Braun is still hanging around as well. His family is moving next month to East Texas.

Georgia Tech is in good shape with Jailyn Ingram and doing okay with Steve Dolphus. Ingram could commit next month, Dolphus is harder to ready.

GT hasn't been pushing very hard for a DE, the focus is on DT that is why Tomon Fox may end up committed to UNC. GT is working hard to get another DT like Caleb Tillman or Nyles Pinckney instead.

OLB recruiting is quiet except for Jonathan Smith. He is really the only target they like right now. Tabarius Peterson is more of a DE. GT is holding steady inside with Brashear committed.

DB wise, one safety and one corner, Baylen Buchanan is a UGA/GT/Louisville battle with the in-state schools with an edge. Jarett Cole is really high on GT as is Robbie Robinson. It will be an uphill fight for Romeo Finley and Ikenna Okeke.

The quarterback situation is up in the air for this class. CPJ is willing to stand pat until he finds another QB he likes. The staff is very high on Christian Campbell and TaQuon Marshall long term to replace Justin Thomas, so there is less urgency with the QB competition. I don't expect any offers to go out at QB until the HS season gets going and the staff can hit the road in September.

FOOTBALL

Senior B-back Patrick Skov arrived today, he did not start when everyone else did since he is not a freshman and doesn't need freshmen orientation.

The biggest question going into the fall will be who starts at RG and if Shamire Devine can nail down that spot of if the staff has to slide out Freddie Burden or come up with some other solution. The rest of the OL is settled and Andrew Marshall could start if needed at center and do a good job if they have to slide Freddie.

This is a big summer for Jabari Hunt-Days he has to pass his summer courses to remain eligible.

There were rumors that Anthony Harrell was planning to return home to play his senior year at USF, but he is not leaving GT.

The coaching staff have begun taking vacation and they will rotate time off for the rest of the summer with the week around the fourth of July being the most dead week of the year.
