Carson originally signed with the University of Texas out of high school, and then transferred to Western Illinois.
Appeared in four games at Texas, and has 17 tackles (1.5 sacks) the last two years at WIU.
A depth piece, I'd say, at a position where things can go downhill in a hurry (as the last three years have shown)
Carson's addition puts less pressure on incoming freshmen DT KJ Miles and Horace Lockett, which I believe will be good for their future outlook as they grow and develop.
