The Jackets are still looking for a big man and a possibly a wing/SG type or a combo guard

-An interesting development over the last 48 hours, Josh Pastner reached out and is talking with former Duke wing Joey Baker. Baker is a bit of a defensive liability at times, but he can shoot the lights out of the basketball and he made a huge mistake going to Duke out of HS. He entered the portal as a grad transfer this week. There is mutual interest. He has one year remaining and the May 1st deadline does not apply to graduate transfers for entering the portal as I expected.

GT continues to monitor Campbell guard/wing Cedric Henderson (from Memphis) who Pastner knew from his days coaching back there. He averaged 14 ppg last year and shot 38.8% from 3. Good rebounder and a good defender with high steal numbers.

Tech also remains active on former Auburn and Tennessee guard Justin Powell. Powell would have to sit for 2022-23, so he might make some sense as a longer-term play for the Jackets.

Still getting stonewalled on info on the big man recruiting however with the adjustment in the offense they could play a double-post offense with Javon Franklin and Howard/Meka if needed going into next season. They played that way a lot during the 2019-20 season with Moses and James Banks and Franklin can play in a way very similar to Moses at that time. I know the lack of NIL money has been an issue as well with the big man recruiting piece.

On the team side, no new news there, Tristan Maxwell survived and remains on the team and they are hopeful he matures and turns the corner this fall and can contribute.
