I think this is as frustrated as I have ever been. Donate lots of money, been honored by GT, and love my school, BUT something has to change. We have way too much potential, can market ourselves much better, embrace our community, tradition, goes on and on, to become one of the best academic/athletic schools OR we can be a Wake type and stop trying. I am tired of hearing about money. My daughter is part of cheer/dance at Alabama and going to their games is a pleasure. Atmosphere alone is amazing. I don't want us to be Alabama, but think most get the point.
Recruiting. We get some great young people, but not enough and we are not competing for some of the best. I know academics and school rep hurt, but we have needed DTs, linebackers, etc. for long time. It feels like our staff is not trying hard enough, or not selling properly. Even Duke is getting better players than we are now.
Coaching. I actually like CPJ, but I don't like his offense, or his stubbornness. The defense has had same problem for years - poor tackling, poor speed, lack of size, poor fundamentals, can't stop anyone with game on line. Special teams is horrid. Need an overhaul in entire coaching staff if going to keep CPJ.
Basketball is as bad as I have seen a long time, basically since a Cremins took over.
Something needs to be done. The AD has no clue. Tell me how to help.
