Atlanta’s job market just got a little better.

On Monday, General Electric began advertising some 250 jobs at the company’s new digital operations center. Gov. Nathan Deal, Atlanta Mayor Kasim Reed and GE officials met Monday at the State Capitol to elaborate on GE’s plans to open the Midtown Atlanta center.

A permanent site has not been announced yet, but the center will be affiliated with Georgia Tech and is expected to have a $48 million economic impact.

Unfortunately, to the vast majority apparently, what matters most in the state of Georgia is supporting a rogue, rule-breaking "amateur" football team at the state's land grant university instead of news like this... http://www.ajc.com/news/news/local/100k-grant-lures-keysight-to-atlanta/nrxK8/

The Atlanta City Council recently approved the grant to Keysight Technologies, a Santa Rosa-based manufacturer of test and measurement equipment and software. The company chose Atlanta — and particularly, a location near Georgia Tech — over Seattle and California’s Silicon Valley for its software development center, city officials said.

Thanks for the news on the Cobb Campus. Maybe we can schedule Georgia Tech-Cobb in men's basketball soon. We need to get a win somehow some way. I wonder if Georgia Tech-Cobb is willing to play softball about 30 times next spring. Hopefully, we could win 15 of them.

Might as well put them on the Volleybees schedule, we can get Mr. Southern Tech '81 out there with the wives and fill O'Keefe up. Calling it "Poligamy Packed, Point Tech". Tech has to win, like your spring football game.

Bobinski can be the athletic directorship at both places. Hiding in plain sight twice as long. He's good at it. Also, saving money in the budget by taking the sprinkles off the doughnuts for training table dessert. Good idea, allowing Shamire to drop a pound a month.

Get your money, Babee!
Those credit card payments get expensive from "The Wives of a Southern Techie", now showing on all the A.& E. network of stations.

NCR Inc. contemplating adding 1,000 jobs in the ATL. And....

...NCR CEO Bill Nuti has said the intown shift is designed to help the company tap student and faculty talent at Georgia Tech. Payment processor Worldpay US and a number of other tech companies have made similar relocation announcements in recent years.

One person familiar with the company’s discussions, said the figure could be between 1,600 and 1,800 jobs over the next several years.

I couldn't get into Ma Tech today.

"Aiming to get into Georgia Tech? Take tough high school courses and calculus"...

http://www.ajc.com/news/news/local-...eorgia-tech-take-tough-high-school-cou/nsG8d/

Ok, parents, what does it take for your child to get into Georgia Tech?

A lot of college-level courses while in high school.

Georgia Tech released the profile of the nearly 3,000 freshmen who begin classes Monday. Among the qualifications setting them apart: These students have taken an average of 10 college-level courses, and 95 percent have taken college-level calculus or an equivalent.

The students represent 69 countries, 43 states, 89 Georgia counties, and 1,429 high schools (307 in Georgia). The class is 42 percent female — an Institute record for the second year — and 58 percent male.

Tech topped 30,000 applicants for the first time in school history.
