Fun very wet day No. 2 practice today. The jackets stayed inside mostly in shorts and helmets. After practice we spoke with the quarterbacks and the offensive coordinator Dave Patenaude
CDP said that today they ran Jordan Yates with a group, James Graham with the B and jeff Sims and the walk on‘s with the other one. Tucker Gleason was limited according to CDP after rolling his ankle on a nice touchdown throw to end practice Tuesday.
CDP Said that Jalen Camp has really transformed himself and he joked there’s like he is bionic leg now. He said that his footwork now matches his physical prowess and he will be a very dangerous weapon.
CDP said that Bruce Jordan-Swilling could be an ACC level back on other teams and then he had been begging to play running back since they got there he said he’s doing some nice things.
CDP said that even some of the running backs that don’t get the limelight are really impressive like Dontae Smith who has put on some good weight and was doing good stuff today and Devin Ellison. He joked they can play five running backs at one time.
CDP said the quarterback room is really awesome and competitive. James Graham did a nice job with the run game last year but the pass game needs to really takeoff this year because they’ve always been good at that and that he thinks the competition will really amp things up from that perspective.
CDP said Jordan Yates could be a head coach one day he has that level of understanding over the offense and interest and why things work the way they do will beyond just the play call.
He said great things about Tuck and Sims as well.
CDP said that Ryan Johnson has really helped the OL at right guard and that Zach Quinney is up to 305 at RT up from 262 when the staff got here 14 months ago.
