Today was defensive day lots of discussion.

CAM is now working with the safeties and CTR with the LBs, CTR said they just wanted to switch stuff around this spring and get some new ideas on, both said they have coached every position on D at this point and safety could use some extra attention anyways because of the lack of experience back there compared to the LBs.

CTR said that Anree Saint-Amour is pushing both Rook-Chungong and KeShun Freeman for their jobs. CTR said Anree is 20-pounds heavier than he was last season and could really be a beast for them this year.

KeShun said he has been working on getting off blocks, using his hands better and getting a quicker first step on the snaps. He said he is also focusing more on his blocker and the schemes versus trying to just eye the ball and that is helping. Said that he goes against Trey Klock a lot and Trey has done a nice job of working with him on stuff.

CTR said that Francis Kallon has had a good spring, said he is really curious to see how he plays in the fall when they face another team. Said that Glanton and Cerge-Henderson have progressed well.

CTR said the SAM linebacker position is a two-way battle between David Curry and Terrell Lewis and he says they switch back and forth and should continue battling through fall camp. Said he likes the competition he has seen.

CTR said that Vic Alexander is getting better, still hear he is kind of stiff, but said playing some last year helped settle him down.

CTR said he is pleased with how they are progressing in camp, but he wishes they had more time to practice, but he says that is always the case.

Lots of focus on pass rush and setting the edge for run defense so the LBs can come in clean and make tackles.

Lance said that Dorian Walker has progressed the most of all the corners, Dorian and Meiko are with the twos, said Lammont Simmons has the physical edge on guys and Meiko is the strongest and is a quick learner.

CTR said the two corner spots are an open competition between the five corners and he does not see that being settled until fall camp either. Said he likes how the young guys have been competing.
