CPJ not in a great mood today. Said they have moved Mikell Lands-Davis to A-back (as pointed out in the WAR ROOM) and Trey Klock to RG (as hinted at in that thread). Today they rolled Trey Klock and Andrew Marshall with the ones and Shamire Devine with the twos. Klock apparently tweaked his back toward the end of practice, CPJ was unsure of the severity, but said he expected him back soon.
CPJ said that Nate Cottrell is out indefinitely with a "severe" knee injury. CPJ also said he probably was not going to be in the rotation to start the season, so people shouldn't think the sky is falling.
Quaide Weimerskirch could be ready to play by game two and I think he will not redshirt based on what I'm hearing. He would slide into the third B-back role.
CBC said that Marcus Marshall moved up the depth chart based on his physical gifts and his great feet. Said that he is still learning where to go and what to do, but they like how he is progressing.
CBC said Christian Campbell is starting to settle down at QB and they are pleased with how athletic he is and how he is picking things up.
CPJ said that the starting A-backs today would be Broderick Snoddy and Qua Searcy. Clinton Lynch would be the third, Ike Willis is out with an undisclosed injury.
CRR called out Shamire Devine when I talked to him, wouldn't even refer to him by name but said he was letting his teammates down but not being able to play a whole series.
CRR talked up a couple of freshmen, Marcus Marshall, A.J. Gray, Brad Stewart, Victor Alexander, Brant Mitchell, TaQuon Marshall Dorian Walker and Meiko Dotson could all play this year. He really is high on Mitchell and Alexander and said that A.J. Gray is a stud. Said that Terrell Lewis and Shaun Kagawa will be big parts of the special teams as well.
CRR said the kick returners are Jamal Golden, Broderick Snoddy and Chris Milton. Next up would be Marcus Marshall, Qua Searcy and TaQuon Marshall.
CRR said the punt return guys are Golden and Searcy.
No Christian Philpott today, he was in red with his arm in a sling (shoulder injury).
