The Metallica thread got me to thinking and I'm sure this has been done before, but I thought this might be fun.

First: KISS/New England 1979 - Birmingham, AL (I was 9, Dad took us)

First without supervision: Judas Priest/Great White 1984

Most Famous Person/Band: Ringo Starr and his All-Star Band 2012 - Nashville, TN. Even my grandparents knew who The Beatles were.

Seen the most: Cheap Trick- 26 times (I'm a fan)

Weirdest Story: I've seen Richard Marx twice for a grand total of about 15 minutes. The first time, I was a DJ for a radio station and had backstage passes to the openers, Wilson Phillips. I...umm...kind of hit it off with Wendy Wilson (I'm charming) and she invited me and my buddy to an after party at a local bar. We went back out in the arena for a bit where Richard Marx was running late for the show. We were ready to head to the bar, so we left after the first song. Years later, at the Ringo show mentioned above, RM was one of the guest singers on "With a Little Help From My Friends". So, seen him twice for two total songs. Not to leave anyone hanging, I struck out with Wendy. I guess you could say I'm the Danny Hall of famous women experiences, but I did have an interesting night with a famous comedienne.

Favorite Experience: Me, opening for Nate Bargatze. I am nothing in the comedy world, but I have accomplished enough to have a few stories. The jump from open miker to part timer is tough but doable if you have the drive. The jump from part timer to full timer was more than I could accomplish. Obviously, Nate is huge now, and deserves every bit of it, but this was years ago at Zanies - Nashville. It's fun to tell the story because it makes me sound like more of a badass than I am. Also, Nate is such a great guy.

Before they were famous: I saw Hootie and the Blowfish at a club about two weeks before Cracked Rear View went crazy. Darius Rucker was sitting in a chair by the pool tables by himself before the show. I didn't know he was the singer until they got onstage. People make fun of them but they really were wildly popular for a couple of years. I think of that moment for him sometimes and realize that may have been the very last gig that he could sit in the bar before a show and not be bothered. Fame is a strange concept in that way.

Anyway, if anyone is interested, feel free to share. I thought of different categories like Biggest Surprise: I saw Morris Day and the Time and they were an absolute blast.

Shittiest: I don't really want to run anyone down, but I saw Dangerous Toys open for The Cult and people threw things. They weren't all that bad, tho.

Miscellaneous: I've seen Guns n Roses a handful of times, but once got the full-on Axl, pissy experience. 1 hour late, left the stage a couple of times, etc. This was 1992.
