It’s EDSBS Charity Bowl week again!

What the hell is the EDSBS Charity Bowl?

For the last decade plus, Spencer Hall, Holly Anderson, and the rest of the crew from the Shutdown Fullcast have run this charity event to benefit New American Pathways (more on them later). The idea is fairly simple: All donations are tagged with the school of your choosing and the results are posted by school. The result is everyone competing to get their school as the top donor to dunk on all of the other brokeass schools.

The charity bowl has been dominated by the Michigan Money Cannon since the outset. For the first several years, Georgia Tech had always been second to Michigan, but in the last few years we've fallen further and further down the rankings. I blame Scooter because he’s an excellent scapegoat.

This is no small potatoes charity drive either, as it’s generated around $1,000,000 for New American Pathways every year for the last few years.

Who is all of this giving going to?

From their website:
“New American Pathways is an Atlanta based nonprofit with the mission of Helping Refugees and Georgia Thrive. Our vision is for new Americans in metro Atlanta to become successful, contributing, and welcomed members of Georgia’s communities. We fulfill our goals by offering the most comprehensive, fully integrated continuum of services targeted to meet the specific needs of refugees and other immigrants in Georgia.”

For an extra Georgia Tech connection, Sean Bedford is on their advisory council.

100% of the donations go to New American Pathways and donations are all tax deductible.

So let’s all go donate to a good cause and at the same time, flex on the broke bois in Athens. It’s a win-win!
