Keion White has always been great with the media. From the time he first let JOL know that Georgia Tech was his transfer destination.

White’s been the same guy since that day, at least with me. Nothing phases him. How White, someone who is not a fan of the glitz and glamour, ended up falling for Geoff Collins’ sale pitch I will never understand. As Keion would say, everything happens for a reason.

He spent time with the media on Friday night after being drafted No. 46 overall by the New England Patriots.

Ken, in what will likely be one of his last GT football moments, asked Keion what yesterday was like for him, waiting in Kansas City all night and not hearing his name called.

In true Keion White fashion, he didn’t bite on the chance to give a sound bite. White noted that such a select few prospects had the chance to be invited to the NFL Draft, and that for the rest of his life he will remember that. He will never have the chance to do that again, and enjoyed his time in Kansas City before returning to Atlanta prior to rounds two and three on Friday.

White was asked what Patriots fans should know about him. He was open about the fact that he is someone that is constantly looking to improve, in every aspect of his game. He’s never going to get complacent, and is always going to grind.

Someone asked if not being drafted in the first round put a chip on his shoulder. He shot that down quickly, and said that the chip is no bigger today than it was yesterday.

The most surprising part of the interview was when he was asked about his communication with the Patriots during the pre-draft process. White revealed that he and the Patriots had ZERO contact, but noted that their personalities meshed well.

White said that he is ”all about business” which fits in well with the culture of the Patriots organization.
