If nothing else, this whets the whistle for a look at some of the big games early next season in particular. For instance, the Cesspool will face UNCheat at the Ga Dome on opening Saturday...the same day Clemson travels to Clemson Without A Lake. Bama faces Southern Cal at Cowpunks Stadium...Ole Miss vs Florida State in Orlando...UCLA at Texas A&M...and, some others.

I agree. Waiting until early February seems silly. Playing some of your better inventory games on Thursday nights up against the NFL is silly as well. They once used the angle of waiting to schedule each season in cahoots with TV partner, ESPN, was to optimize TV exposure and opportunities. However, having looked very closely at the ACC's composite schedules over the years I think they fail miserably. We have some weekends where there are nice, ample sets of inventory of ACC games for TV exposure and then we have some weekends where there is next to nothing. I thought the idea was to spread things out so every Saturday would have at least two - preferably three - solid ACC games for TV purposes. Of course, then they go and put some of the best games on Thursdays which is stupid. Oh well. I guess I shouldn't expect so much from Greensboro. *SIGH*
