While I tend to agree that it should be straight seeded 1 through 12, what I'm afraid of is this just being another way the SEC and Big 10 can control college football. Unless an ACC or Big 12 team has a really good resume, they won't be given the benefit of the doubt by the committee to seed them ahead of many of the might SEC or Big 10 teams.
