Justin Thomas passing stats are definitely skewed due to low percentage pass play attempts and not great protection. I think he is a good player but he has to change his running style, he has to have the ability to get down hill on the option and get 3-5 yards when its not there. Matthew Jordan was doing a really good job of that in the Miami game, if only he could hold onto the ball. I know Justin Is a smaller guy, but do you think he can change his running style to take more contact and get down hill more? And how much of that is going to be stressed by CBC and CPJ in the offseason?
I think that is something that was sorely missed when Byerly got hurt. I believe JT would have been rotated out some until he run down hill more. CPJ is going to work with him on it in the spring and it along with taking care of the ball are two things they are heavily focused on.
Do you feel the negative comments on CPJ and the program have any impact on the recruiting?
Locally yes, the crap in the AJC has an impact on parents and HS coaches more than the kids themselves. All the shots CPJ and Richt for that matter took from Bradley and Shultz over the years have hurt both programs IMO in recruiting.
Who our next 3 commits???
QB- Jay Jones, S- Romeo Finley and DT Brandon Adams
Of the current low 2 star players, Kenny Cooper, Jalen Camp, and Daniel Thomas which players have not been evaluated? FWIW I like all three of their films. Probably not the 1-8 talent that we desperately need, but I could see these kids as solid contributors down the line.
None of them have been evaluated so I will push on them. I know Thomas will move up and Cooper and Camp probably a little bit.
Didn't see any clips of Camp blocking in his hudl film. Do you have any comments on how he is as a blocker?
I didn't, I'm going to see if I can find some run plays from the team highlights and see what I can find.
Will this finally be Brian Gregory's final season at GT? If not, can GT finally get rid of the most worthless AD of any P5 program in M-Boob?
Really depends on if he can get them on the bubble and win a few ACCT games.
I'd like to ask what are the ODDS with 38 days left on:
Carter - 15%
Woods- 30%
D Campbell- 50%
D Jones- depends on if they push or not, 100% if they do
Finley- 85%
Buchanan- 70%
Simmons- depends on if he is a take for UGA or Bama
Byrd- I have no feel on him
T Marshall- 0%
Adams???- 75%
How was your Christmas?
Very nice, I enjoy watching my 5-year old open his gifts and how amp'd up he was the last 48 hours. Also had some amazing food.
New years plans?
I'm headed up to Philly, New York City and NJ to visit my girl's family and to see some of mine.
New years resolution?
Try to have more fun and get out a little more.
Favorite hangout or eating place in Atlanta?
I do love Local Three, there is a pizza place by my house that I love called Saporito's where I am a regular.
Myself or someone else may have asked this before, but who do you predict will be our next starting QB after JT5 is gone?
Part of me feels like Jordan will be the guy based on knowing CPJ and how he works.
Thanks for all you do Kelly!
Thank you
Will you be going to the BC Game in Ireland, and if so, do you plan on having a tailgate or other "get-together" for your members who will be attending the game?
Yes. I'm leaning toward that, I am meeting up with one of my best friends from HS who lives in Scotland and is flying over for the game so I'm trying to figure out logistics.
Who do you think will be the QB/ath we sign this year?
Jay Jones is the top guy on the board above all others.
