A guy I use to pal around with in high school and college passed away today. We use to abuse alcohol on the regular. There are weeks I don't remember from the years from 2009-2015. I use to be a tank, but this guy was such a drinker/partier he turned it into being on MTV's reality show Floribama Shore.
I remember the days of cruising the Buckhead bar scene with him. He would bring 2 handles with him, 1 to drink when we met up and 1 to drink in the car before going into the bars. He would always say "I'm not paying those prices. I'll get cheap beer inside". We use to go to the country bar in Buckhead and he would start getting people on the floor because he wanted to line dance. Dude was a ball to be with and a god friend. Always completely honest when you asked advice. He was a softy too. He always had a soft spot for people who were underprivileged. I remember one time we he got us into a lounge with Jason Heyward. Little did Kirk know I knew Jason from random instances throughout Atlanta. So when he walked up to Jason to introduce himself Jason dapped me up and said how's it going Tyler?! I'll never forget Kirks face when that happened.

Kirk just had a problem with alcohol. My drinking slowed significantly around 2016 when I started dating my now wife. His drinking increased during that time. He joined the show in 2017 and it really ballooned. A few months ago he got word from his doctor that his liver values were high and was told to stop drinking, to work out and eat as clean as possible. He slowed for a little, but didn't stop. He was placed in ICU a week or so ago and passed away earlier today. This is sobering for me and several friends to pay attention to your health and realize years of over doing it can and will catch up to you. He was 33 years old. I urge anyone and everyone to treat everything with moderation and to keep on top of your health because there are people who love you and want you to succeed.

RIP Kirk.

This is some coverage from Kirks death. He played football for Sequoyah up in Hickory Flat, was a little ballhawk back in the day (Canton).
