THE FLATS –
Georgia Tech baseball received its first national preseason ranking ahead of the 2022 season as Collegiate Baseballtabbed the two-time defending ACC Coastal Division Champions at No. 11.

The Yellow Jackets are the second-highest ranked Atlantic Coast Conference team in the preseason poll and one of six teams ranked in the top 25 overall – Notre Dame (No. 10), Florida State (No. 12), Miami (Fla.) (No. 23), Virginia (No. 24) and North Carolina (No. 25).

Georgia Tech returns one of its deepest rosters in recent history, tabbed by D1Baseball as returning one of the top offensive lineups in the country.

The Jackets return the offensive power of Kevin Parada, Andrew Jenkins, Drew Compton, Tres Gonzalez, Stephen Reid, Jake DeLeo, John Anderson and Colin Hall, while also adding five transfers to the 2022 roster. On the mound, they enjoy the return of a stacked bullpen that includes Zach Maxwell, Josiah Siegel, Dawson Brown, Marquis Grissom, Jr., Luke Bartnicki and Dalton Smith, as well as veterans Sam Crawford and Joseph Mannelly.

In total, Tech sports seven players ranked in Perfect Game’s top 300 MLB prospects and four in D1Baseball’s top 100 prospects list.

The Yellow Jackets will look to become just the fourth ACC team overall and the second in the Coastal Division to win three-straight division titles since the league split into division championships in 2006 - Florida State (2007-14), Miami (2014-16) and Louisville (2015-17). Since head coach Danny Hall took over in 1994, only one team in the ACC has won more regular season and divisional championships than Georgia Tech’s seven.
