I'd like to see us open it up a bit on first down

This is not trying to get people started bashing CDP. I actually like him. I think we're now getting to the point in Sims' development where we can pass more on first down. Against Duke, except on the last TD drive which was obvious passing downs, we had 25 first down offensive plays:

• We handed off to the RB 13 times for 51 yards (3.9 avg). 17 yards was on one run by Smith (2.8 avg other 12 plays).
• Sims ran on 5 plays for 30 yds (6.0 avg).
• We passed 7 times (2 completed) for 43 yds (6.1 avg/play).

On the last TD drive which are not included above, we passed 3 times (completing all 3) for 43 yards (14.3 avg.). We did not run the ball at all of first down. Only run was a scramble by Sims
