Ga. Tech Basketball Recruiting(late period, April 2016), [3].

Would you rather have him or Charlie Moore if they wanted to come here? If both wanted to, would you take both since White may be backing out?

Bibby or Moore? is that they question?

I think Moore because I have seen more of his game, but if Pastner has offered Bibby then he must be a player with skills he needs. He's been on Moore longer, so I am sure if he's taking only one it'll be Moore first.

I think the team could take both with the current scholarships open, if White backs out then that still leaves one open. We will see how the coach works this out. Whether he holds one or uses it this year.

We have at least two to give, even with White making it.
I take both. Bibby can shoot the rock, Babee!

That equals a point and a point/two guard. Then take a Post-Grad. Trf. because we've never had a coaching change without attrition. Worst comes to worst with numbers, one of the current points gets a medical schollie. They all could qualify. Another reason to grab PGs.

Mike Bibby, Jr.-H.S. stats - pts 19.3, FG% 45%, 2pt 57%, 3 pt 34%, FT 76%, asst 4.0 , stls 2.7 & rbg 4.0.

Interesting if true per an Arizona board, Mike Bibby, Sr. did not graduate from college. That could hold him back, if CJP has even met with him yet.

He(Kennedy)must be needing a new contract. New assistant is working hard.
Amazing how Morrison had Roger Banks save his job. Cremins had Perry Clark take us to another level. Hewitt had Cliff Warren, who I believe made that contract come true with Jack, Bynum, Elder and Ish.

Okogie at PG and 2G shows that CJP has plans to cover next year with OJT for the future. Think about how long it took for the previous staff to figure out that an athlete like MGH can operate a 30 second shot clock by slashing against a man to man defense, more effectively than a smaller, less physical force at the point. It's a different game in this aggressive style of play which most recruits desire these days. IMO, this allows us to only have to get Moore or Bibby to fit(although we all would probably like to have both and sort out roles). Tyrie Jackson shot 46% of his 3's during his HS career that just ended in Tifton. As a 6'1" PG Walk-on(Hope/Zell), you get more flexibility even though he was counted on to score during his Sr. Yr. at 16 ppg. more than penetrate the zones they witnessed played against them(only 2.3 apg.).

With White's uncertainty, we really need a post. To me, a Grad. Trf. fits in well for one year(also witnessed by CJP already offering one who is tall and athletic). When bigs like W. Carter are available for 2017, even if for only a year, we need room to get them in. Now we ask how does that impact our development for 2018 and further on? Like a Derrick Favors, it breathes life in a program that has recently failed to develop NBA level talent(not counting Robt. Carter, Jr. who left since we failed to see his total value and MGH, who might be playing overseas beyond July). CJP learned from Memphis that an injury or early departure can turn a season by 5 games the wrong way. I have confidence he will recruit around a one or two and done player, more efficiently than CBC due to the way he saw Coach Cal. take all but 4 or 5 athletes with him.

Not sure it means much, but a couple of Crystal Ballers at 247 now are projecting Charlie Moore to Fowler Street... http://247sports.com/PlayerInstitution/Charlie-Moore-at-Morgan-Park-128909/CurrentExpertPredictions

This would be a nice shot in the arm at a position where 1) the starting role is wide open and likely Moore would be filling it from Day 1 and 2) we are likely losing at least 1 guy and perhaps 2 so depth will be an issue next year - along with Heath will be a senior, assuming he returns as I think he will.

If we can land Moore, it allows Okogie and T-Jax to focus more on the 2. Also, it may have a residual benefit of being a sign to White and Okogie that CJP is going to bring in some talented guys to go along with them and they hopefully stick with Ma Tech.

Fingers crossed.

Article from March 6, 2016:
The mood was light and the action was fast and furious for the senior boys game, with the South prevailing in a game with no shortage of highlights.

Tift County’s Tyrie Jackson, a 6-3 guard who has signed with Georgia Tech, was named the MVP of the South after scoring 26 points, with the majority coming on athletic drives to the hoop.

Signing period didn't start until the 2nd Wed. in April(13th), so therefore being listed as a commitment.

Lot's of good articles link. thanks for the posts.

I will be glad when some of these players make their decisions. I am hopeful Pastner is able to entice a few of them to GT.

I agree about the need for a grad transfer. That will help bridge the gap until the next recruiting class and allow Pastner to develop a better plan for his recruiting. He doesn't lack energy right now; that's for sure. It is amazing how many places he's getting to visit by himself.

No go for the Jackets:

Charlie Moore has set up his last two official visits, and Tech isn't scheduled for either of those. He has visited his brother here in Atl.

I am not sure we are really surprised by Hampton's decision here. Pastner has really been focused on HS players. I don't know that he had time to develop any sort of relationship with any of the transfer candidates yet.

Mom has to protect Mello and his best interests....other schools as fall back options in case he is not admitted to Tech:

Coach Chad Dollar and Coach Bruce Pearl(of wisdom)at Auw-burn Tigers w/out a lake, should be getting an unofficial before school is out. Not a bad drive from May-retta for Mom to see his games.
