Georgia Tech signee Dalen Penson and Sandy Creek competed at the Region 2-AAA Meet on Monday at Whitewater High in Fayetteville. It was Day 1 so mostly field event finals and some prelim running events. He was the region champ in the triple jump with a 46-5 and finished third in the long jump with at 20-8. He advances to Class AAA Sectionals in both those events on May 3 at Peach County.
The Region 2-AAA Meet will conclude on Friday with all the running finals back at Whitewater High, and Penson is scheduled to run in the 110 hurdles and the 4x100 relay. He's also an alternate for Sandy Creek on the 4x200 relay.
Tech signee Jordan Allen and Buford will compete in the Region 8-AAAAAA Meet on Wednesday and Thursday at Mill Creek High. He is set to run in multiple events, including the 100 meter dash. Should he advance to Sectionals in anything, that will be held on May 3 at Westlake High.
