I am not arguing whether he should or should not receive an extra year, but QB co-starter for NCState, Ryan Finley, was given an extra year of eligibility yesterday by the NCAA. It is just weird to me because we have heard so many times that if your initial redshirt year was not lost due to injury....it cannot be reinstated for an early season injury later in your career. I want to say we have had similar decisions that did not go our way.

At any rate...QB Ryan Finley redshirted his first year at Boise St, then was injured in game 3 of his redshirt sophomore year. He graduated in May and transferred to NCState where he would have been a redshirt junior this season....however the NCAA ruling makes him a 22 year old redshirt sophomore.

I looked for other articles in an attempt to find other details that could have lead to the decision but came up empty. If anyone knows anything that would be great....it looks just like an inconsistent ruling to me which would not be shocking. CLICK HERE
