I know that contributions to the Tech Fund are not tax deductible, but I never have had a problem with contributions to A-T until this year. When I requested my annual contribution to A-T be made from my Schwab Donor Fund, Schwab contacted me back and said because I get "priority points" with that contribution, it doesn't qualify as a charitable gift unless I specifically state that I do not want the benefits that come with the contribution.

Has anyone else had any problems with this before?

I don't know how they would put a value on priority points to exclude that value from the gift. I went ahead and agreed to state (in the Schwab letter to A-T) that I would forego the "points".

Wondering how this is being handled at all other NCAA schools that give preference to donors??
