Well, what to do on the next 2 Saturdays with no Tech football? Damn Honey Do List and leaves galore in my trailer park needing cleaning. Arrrrggg!

12:00 ESPN-2: Duke (6-2/3-1) at #21 North Carolina (7-1/4-0)
*Well, can't get much bigger of a game than this one in this rivalry. UNC has a chance to get very close to cashing its ticket to Charlotte with a W here as it would have the tie-breaker advantage on both Pitt and Duke. After winning the Victory Bell for 2 straight years in '12 and '13 for the first consecutive wins by Duke since the late 1980's when Visor Boy was roaming the sidelines, UNC took it back in convincing fashion last year at WWS with a 25-pt romp. The Tar Holes are 8 pt favorites at home. UNC has never played in the ACCCG and they have their best shot at finally making that trip. Just think, if UNC had not crapped the bed on opening weekend, they could (AND SHOULD) be 8-0 right now and potentially making a run to the ACCCG which could/should/would feature potentially not one, but two, undefeated teams in UNC and Clemson. Well, that's a lot of hypotheticals and the season isn't over yet. But, having a potential 11-1 ACC Coastal winner in the ACCCG would mean UNC is likely up near the top 10 in rankings and should make the ACC champion look a lot better if they can get there with that record. UNC leads the all-time series, 43-22-1.

12:00 ABC: #8 Notre Dame (7-1) at Pittsburgh (6-2/4-1)
*The Panthers' ACC Coastal chances hit a bump at home last week. While they are not out of that race, they step out of conference this week to host the Irish who face yet another tough opponent. If the Irish finish 11-1, they deserve to be in consideration for the playoffs. Their only loss was by 2 pts at Clemson and the Irish continuing to win helps Clemson too, IMO. The Irish are 7.5 pt favorites at Heinz Field. Note, the last time these 2 programs hooked up was 2 years ago at Heinz Field and the Panthers won 28-21 over #24 ND. ND leads the all-time series, 47-21-1.

12:30 ACC Network (Split): NC State (5-3/1-3) at Boston College (3-6/0-6)
*The Wolfpack's vaginally infused September OOC schedule has now caught up with them in ACC play. BC just can't score (and I mean in that kind of way too). The Eagles are averaging scoring 8 pts a game in its 6 ACC games so far. The Pack are only 4 pt favorites at Chestnut Hill. Should be yet another low scoring game. The Over/Under is 40 pts, FWIW. The Pack can qualify for a MEG with a win here.

12:30 ACC Network (Split): Syracuse (3-5/1-3) at Louisville (4-4/3-2)
*The Cardinals are just winning right now. May be a bit ugly at times, but winning nonetheless. 4 of their last 5 in fact. With a very winnable home game in Week 11 against the French on the horizon to potentially cash a MEG appearance, UofL needs to not look past this pesky Orange bunch. Cuse still has to host Clemson and travel to NC State so their chances of making a MEG are getting very very slim. UofL is laying 12 here.

3:00 RSN: Virginia (3-5/2-2) at Miami (5-3/2-2)
*The Canes can cash a MEG appearance with a W here. The French have had surprisingly good success against Miami. I bet you didn't know the French have won 4 of the last 5 in the series and 6 of the last 9. The spread is off the board at this time. A win by the French puts them right in the thick of making an improbable MEG appearance (and saving London's job? doubtful based on the two-thirds empty stadium this past Saturday, but possible).

3:30 ABC: #17 Florida State (7-1/5-1) at #3 Clemson (8-0/5-0)
*The obvious Game of the Year in the ACC. Looks like the Noles will have both QB Golson and RB Cook back this week, which should help them tremendously. The Orangenecks are laying a whopping 12.5 pts here. Can't recall the last time, if ever, I've seen a Noles team getting that many points. Even in their lsat few down years under Bubba Bowden. Should be a great one...well, for the first half. I think Clemson is capable of drilling the Noles in a big way - assuming they keep Cook from going off.

Off this week: Ga Tech, Va Tech, Wake Forest

Two other games of note...

3:30 FOX: #5 TCU (8-0/5-0) at #12 Oklahoma State (8-0/5-0)
*FINALLY! FINALLY! We start to get some of these so-called power teams in the defensively-challenged Big 12 playing one another. This game likely features over 100 pts scored (the O/U is currently at a whopping 79 and I think it will go over that with ease). The Toads are laying 5 pts on the road. The rest of the nation will have a close eye on this one.

8:00 CBS: #4 LSU (7-0/4-0) at #7 Alabama (7-1/4-1)
*Big exam time for the Tigers. They can stamp their claim on significant consideration for the playoffs given they can go on and win the SEC West and SEC title. Most of all, it is an elimination game for the Tide. Unfortunately, we probably have to listen to those bumbling fools, Danielson and Lundquist, call this big game. *SIGH* Where's that mute button? Bama is laying 6 pts at home.

Guess to help the ACC I'll pull for Clemson this week. Would really like to see the SEC out of the playoffs even if it means a Big 12 team is in this year. Just get sick down here hearing about the SEC

The quickest way to an 8-team playoff IMO is for the SEC to be left out of the 4. Go Ole Miss!

More random Factoid Friday...

*To date, the ACC Coastal is 7-3 vs the ACC-Atlantic. 4 games remain:
11-14 France at Louisville - French won last year at SSS
11-21 Louisville at Pitt
11-28 UNC at NC State - will the Tar Holes have the Coastal wrapped up by then?
11-28 Duke at Wake

*To date, the SEC West is 10-1 vs the SEC East. The only win for the SEC East was the Gators upsetting the Rebs in the Swamp. 3 games remain:
11-14 Cesspool at Clemson Without A Lake
11-21 Texas A&M at Vandy
11-27 (Fri) Mizzou at Arkansas
SEC West will be favored in all 3.
