The 4-2 Volleybees host the Georgia Challenge this Thursday and Friday. ALL 3 Tech matches will be streamed live via ACC Network Extra.

Quick notes...

• Tech leads the series against Georgia State, 36-3. Tech has won 109 of the 126 total sets played against the Panthers going back to the start of the series in 1985.
• Tech lost at Kennesaw State a season ago to tie the all-time series, 1-1. Certainly, one of the worst losses in the early CMC era at Tech. I think the Volleybees will be out for blood in that one Thursday evening.
• The Volleybees have won 15 of the last 17 over the Dwags. By far, the most successful program at Tech against the Scumbags over the last 2 decades. Imagine a Tech FB or MBB head coach winning 15 of 17 over them. We'd be building statues of the HC - well, if in FB. The Dwags enter this match at 6-0, but Tech will be (perhaps by far) their toughest competition to date. Certainly, the Tech students and O'Keefe will be rocking on every serve. Will be SRO and a great atmosphere. If you rarely or never watch the Volleybees, check this match out Friday night if you can - or watch the replay. You won't be sorry.

Jackets make quick work over the Panthers, 3-0. Hoping for 6-0 in our next 6 sets at home.

Volleybees won the 1st set, though it was a battle all the way. Got the lead and kept it for most of the 2nd set before the Owls came storming back at the end to take it and tie the match at 1-1.

Hopefully, the VB's can avoid a repeat of last year against KSU.

Volleybees (7-2) still no votes in this week's AVCA poll. Michigan checks in at #23 this week and Kansas State is #25. Those 2 teams gave us our only losses on the season.

2 ACC teams in this week's Top 25... Cheaters #8 and Florida State #13. Pitt, who we open our ACC schedule at on Sep. 23, is Honorable Mention.

Tech travels to Coastal Carolina this upcoming weekend. We open with North Florida, who is 7-4 on the season. And then, we play the hosts, CCU, twice. CCU is 7-2 on the season. CCU just won at Pitt this past weekend. Their only losses have been to Purdue, now #14 in the nation in today's poll, and Michigan, who defeated Tech as stated earlier in this message.

More strong competition for the Jackets as we finish up non-conference play. If the Volleybees can get 2 wins this upcoming weekend, it will be a spiking success.

Kodie Comby was absolutely terrific and THE difference maker in the win over Kennesaw State. She had a super start to her home career at O'Keefe. She will be special as she progresses at Tech.
