7 seasons and 3 ACC Coach of the Year awards. If the Jackets reach their potential in 2015 and win another ACC title, there is a good chance Admiral Johnson can win a 4th ACC COTY award. That would be half of his seasons at Tech.

But nooooooooooooooooo, we don't want him at "our" school with "that" offense so many fans and analysts might say. To that I say...

...GOOD! Keep your meat hooks off our guy. :D

Seriously though, I think CPJ is right where he wants to be. He wants to be at a school that takes academics seriously and he can recruit guys who are serious about their futures.

Johnson enters his 8th season as HC. This will be the longest tenure as HC since the legend Bobby Dodd retired over 40 years ago. Bill Curry ('80-'86) and George O'Leary ('95-'01) each served as head coaches for 7 seasons before Curry bailed for Alabama and O'Leary left for Notre Dame (albeit only for a few days).

CPJ now has the experience of how to sell Tech. Kids in the state of Georgia and throughout the Southeast and nation for that matter have grown up knowing who he is and what Tech is about. The rising high school seniors he is recruiting for this next signing class weren't even in middle school yet when he started. That game right after Turkey Day is critical. 2 wins in 7 years is not good...though the quiet right now is appreciated. The Jackets were a TD favorite in 2009 at home and gave that one away. Should have been 3 of 7 at minimum with a chance to even the score this upcoming season. WIN...THAT...GAME...and recruiting will respond.

Good luck to Coach Johnson in his 8th year leading Tech FB.
