I’m down in Tampa where I made a detour last night ahead of the FSU game to watch Iron Maiden on the final night of their tour that was delayed because of Covid.
anyway I’m at the show last night and I text one of my college buddies who works in the music merch industry that he’d enjoy how long the lines were to buy stuff. He lives in Athens and he pinged me back that he was at the show and his company does business with Maiden. He told me to meet him after the show at the soundboard since I was in the pit.
I go back after the show and meet him, his girlfriend and a bunch of the crew. I then got invited to the after party at this posh hotel and I was out until 3am with half of the band and their senior crew. It was nuts but in a totally different way than expected as it was 50-60 year old British dudes drinking wine, beer and cocktails tell old tales. Crazy
