I’m the owner of Samsung UBD-K8500, what I wanna do is to add and play some MKV files on Samsung Blu-ray player. Unfortunately, Samsung Blu-ray player can’t playback MKV perfectly. Based on my experience, even some MKV files are supported by Samsung Blu-ray player, it plays audio only no image...

After searching high and low, I’ve worked out the method to transfer and watch MKV on Samsung Blu-ray player smoothly. It might be hard to find someone with direct playback experience with media in MKV on Samsung Blu-ray player due to the video/audio codec it contains. Chances are that the audio is in some of these MKVs not supported, a conversion could well fix that.

If you aren't creating the MKV yourself, then you truly have no idea of the resolution, bitrate, or CODEC (for MKVs) which was used. All of these things affect compatibility within a player.Chances are that the video or audio are in some of codecs that your Samsung Blu-ray Player does not support, a conversion could well fix that.
