The Tour heads over to Memphis before the US Open cranks up the following week outside of Pittsburgh. Matt Kuchar continued his hot play of late by tying for 4th at The Memorial. His FECS is now at 18. Kooch will be taking this week off to recharge the batteries a bit and get ready for the US Open. Currently, Kooch is the only Golfing Jacket qualified to play in the US Open. Sectional qualifiers of course hopefully will change that being played today (Monday, June 6th...see other thread).

3 Golfing J's will compete this week in Memphis (current FECS in parenthesis)

  • Stewart Cink (141)
  • Chesson Hadley (148)
  • Cameron Tringale (91)
All 3 of these guys need to play well. Cink and Hadley of course have a lot of work to do to get inside the top 125. Tringale has been fading the last few months since starting off the season in great position.

Bryce Molder (48) and Roberto Castro (38) will not be participating this week. Castro is one of the US Open Sectional Qualifying participants today.

CBS will have weekend network coverage. For a change, the weather forecast looks to be great at Memphis. Hot but clear every day with little-to-no chance for significant rain and delays...like the Tour has experienced a lot of lately.

Chesson Hadley off to a good start this morning (-3 thru 6 holes). Hopefully, he can build on this start. Chesson really - and I mean REALLY - needs to get going with some strong finishes to assure his future on the Tour.

GO CHESSON!!!

And, my curse is alive and well. Hadley goes on to post a +1 (71). Cink had a terrible day finishing at +5.

Tringale Even thru 2 in the afternoon session.

Cameron just quadruple bogeyed (8 on a par-4) the 6th hole this morning to move him to +6 for the tournament. With Cink posting a +5 yesterday and the projected cut at +1, it looks like Chesson Hadley (+1 entering his afternoon round 2 today) is likely the only GJ to have a legit shot at making the cut. Don't recall the last time no GJ has been playing on the weekend at a Tour event.

Hopefully, Chesson plays well today and avoids a GJ weekend shutout.

Kudos to Stewart Cink, who shot a 4-under 66 today to make the cut at +1 and tied for 61st. He's the only GJ to advance to the weekend.
