Six games in, I think it's pretty fair to say that Buster Faulkner has done a phenomenal job with improving our offense. Here's the most absurd stat: Until this year, Georgia Tech hasn't been ranked in the TOP 80 nationally in passing yards per game since 2001. We are currently 36th!! The teamrankings website doesn't go further back than 2003, but I'd guess the 2001 team was the last one with a passing attack this potent. I'm not saying Buster Faulkner deserves the Broyles Award, but it shouldn't be understated the improvement he's made on that side of the ball in such short time. Tons of credit to Haynes King and Chris Weinke, as well. Also our highest and second highest rank in total yards and points per game, respectively, in seasons running a "conventional offense."

Here is the breakdown of total yards/passing yards/rushing yards/points per game rank from the last 20 years:
2023 - 53/36/79/59
2022 - 110/100/93/124
2021 - 91/100/52/98
2020 - 67/90/43/92
2019 - 127/124/72/125
2018 - 65/129/2/27
[Triple option years all pretty similar to 2018 in passing/rushing rank]
2007 - 70/92/34/88
2006 - 64/88/33/52
2005 - 72/87/48/102
2004 - 86/85/60/84
2003 - 91/97/47/86
