Ernie Banks would love the T-Dudes today. The T-Dudes host East Tennessee State at 2:30 this afternoon followed by a nightcap at 7:30 against Presbyterian to kickoff the season.
Coming off a season where our guys made it back to the NCAAT, the team is primed to build on that and return while registering an even better overall record. The T-Dudes lost 3 matches last February in the pre-ACC schedule to the Cesspool, Auburn and Tennessee all by a 4-3 margin. Hopefully our guys can get over the hump in close losses such as those.
The ACC is of course again loaded as always starting with top-ranked Virginia, who has now won 9 straight ACC titles and 11 of the last 12. The French have won 139 straight matches against ACC foes - the longest streak in ACC history of any sport/team.
The Jackets follow up today's doubleheader with a strong set of teams coming in this weekend for the MLK Invitational. While there are no team competitions per se and results will not be counted towards the overall record, our guys and CKT will get a chance to see how they stack up against some of the best in the nation. The T-Dudes face #19 Ole Miss on Friday, followed by #2 Oklahoma on Saturday and #7 Cesspool on Sunday.
The T-Dudes return all but 1 player from last year's roster. We are led of course by tall, lean sophomore Christopher Eubanks, who has received some nice experience since last spring playing in some professional tournaments. There are the Kay brothers. 6 guys from Georgia, 3 internationals, and 1 from Florida.

Good luck to the guys as they kickoff what could be a strong season in 2016. Nice to talk about another athletics program who is on the upswing.
