I just read the Ted Rood thread and its time we talk about talent. We do not lack it. Im sorry if its hard for you all for me to dismiss this excuse but we dont lack talent. Im sorry not on offense or defense. I can think of several solid players. Step, Gamble, Henderson, Corey, Mitchell, Davis, Freeman and it goes on. We arent young either.
Our Oline is solid and talented and playing better this year after a rough start. JT, Mills, Lynch, Willis, Green, Juene and Brad are all playing at a high level.
GT has talent. It is scheme and coaching on defense that is costing us. Today I still saw plays where players were confused on the call before the snap even after one of PJs famous "simplying" weeks.
The problems on defense is leaking on the offense and putting too much pressure on the Offense. As the game goes in the players on offense press more feeling the need to "keep up".
This is the third DC under CPJ. None at all successful. Are the coaches bad? Or does the offense set then back in practice? I havd dismissed thd latter vehemently in the pasr but have started thinking...are we stuck in a self deprecating cycle?
