The Volleybees (19-5/10-2) sit in the 3rd spot in the ACC standings, sitting 1 game behind both the Cheaters and Noles who are 11-1. Tech can get to 20 wins with a victory Friday night, which would be the first 20-win season since 2009, which also is our last appearance in the NCAAT.
This is a good article worth reading regarding the progress this program is making and an adjustment/raising of their season goals due to success... http://www.ramblinwreck.com/sports/w-volley/spec-rel/110216aaa.html
Friday, vs Virginia Tech, 7pm, no live streaming (WREK)
The Hokies (8-15/3-9) head into O'Keefe on a 7-match losing streak. The V-Bees defeated the Hokies in Blacksburg, 3-1, during the conference schedule's opening weekend back in late September. Unfortunately, there will be no live streaming for this match. Boooooo!
Sunday, vs Pitt, 1pm, ACC Network Extra live streaming
The Panthers (17-7/8-4) will roll into O'Keefe on a roll. Not only having won 3 straight, but coming off their biggest victory of the season as they dealt the Cheaters their only ACC loss on the season this past Sunday, 3-2, at home. With a likely win at Clemson Friday night, they will be on a 4-match winning streak come Sunday. Pitt is one of only 2 ACC teams to hand the Jackets a loss this season...3-1 back in late September in Tech's opening ACC match at Pitt.
Tech's RPI is currently #48. Pitt is #30, FWIW.
Hopefully, the Volleybees will get some good raucous crowds this weekend at O'Keefe and be the difference in getting Tech to 21-5/12-2 before finishing with 4 of the last 6 on the road.
GO VOLLEYBEES!
