The evidence of improvement year over year is obvious. The Volleybees went on the road tonight, dominated the 1st set, collapsed late in the 2nd set after being ahead for much of it until around the 19-19 point, dominated the 3rd set to take a 2-1 lead, and then were done in by some terrible refereeing which sided with Pitt late in the 4th set. We lost the final set 15-13 to give Pitt the match and there was at least one bizarre reversal of a Tech point given to Pitt.

Pitt dominated Tech at O'Keefe last year and pretty much both teams had the same faces this year. The fire and guts of this Tech bunch was fun to watch tonight for 2 and a half hours. Pitt is a definite NCAAT team. The ridiculous calls that went against us just served to fire our gals up even more and you could see it in their body language and play.

If they bring that kind of effort and game every match, they will knock off some of the better teams in the ACC (like Pitt). Good show, ladies. Now, go down to Blacksburg and kick their behinds Sunday afternoon -- 3:30 televised via regional sports networks. Give them a look if you haven't this year. You'll be glad you did.

Thanks for the detailed recap!

Been held up in Dave and Buster's tonight. Early morning breakfast planned at Silver Skillet. Hopefully Paul, Ted and Ray will bee there for my consultation.

Will tune in Sunday for the Volleybees' match with the Gobbler Gals.

Great game today, guys. Definitely had us Pitt fans sweating until the final seconds. Best of luck moving forward.

Tied our season high for wins from last year with 13. Now in a tie for 8th(out of 15 ACC schools)place with the Hokies, who we defeated today on the road 3-1. Evened up the conf. record.

T. VanGunst had 24 kills. Enjoyable watch!

Fantastic 3-1 win at Blacksburg. Way to go, Volleybees! First road ACC win of the season.

The team is really playing well and coming together now. The Volleybees return home for a very tough Tar Holes bunch Friday night (7pm, ESPN-3) and then what should be a very winnable match against the Wolfpack on Sunday (3pm, RSN/ESPN-3).

13-7 overall and 4-4 in the ACC.

5 of the next 7 are at O'Keefe.

Side note regarding Women's Athletics at Tech, I may be wrong, but the ACC Women's Hoops Media Day event may be this week (Wednesday is my guess) if consistent with when held last few years.
