The Good
*There was plenty...starting with the defense...set the tone, many 3 and outs, loved every bit of their game
*Excellent execution by the offense all around...any concerns about backs and receivers are toned down a bit for now...still need to see it against solid competition of course
*Let the comparisons begin...#34 looked like some stud #34's from about 30 years ago (any southern college football fan over 45 years old should know the set of guys I'm talking about)...in Tech lore, he reminded of William Bell...what a 1-2 punch we have at that position!! WOW!
*No penalties...that is very impressive - especially considering it is the first game
*Welcome to the big time, AJ Gray! Nice hit on kickoff coverage, a fumble recovery and an INT.
*Getting JT 5 out of the game after 1 quarter...and, soon after a lot of other key starters. The backups looked solid.
*Mike Summers...heckuva catch for the TD.

The Bad
*Nothing really in this category (yes, I know Marshall lost a fumble but dang if his run prior to it happening looked great in the process :))... buuuuuut...

The Ugly
*Another botched PAT? About the only thing that went wrong all night to complain over. We almost blew the thrilling win at the Cesspool last November thanks to a blown PAT in OT. Let's hope that's our lone gaff of the season in that area and we've met our quota for the season.

Great job, Jackets. Bring on the Green Wave (who lost by 30 at home to Duke last night).

One thing I found encouraging was the play of our 2nd team OL. In particular, Andrew Marshall, Trey Klock, and Will Bryan played very well as a unit at C, LG, LT. It looks like we are set to reload in 2016 after losing 3 seniors from this year's starting group. The staff must be really high on Will Bryan to burn his shirt right out of the gate given the overall depth we have on the OL.

Will Bryan entering Tech in January and participating in spring likely helped his chances. Great to have him. Agree 622% on the O-Line. I think CPJ feels good that he has finally got the classes balanced close to exactly where he wants it there now with younger guys coming up behind the experienced first stringers.

great, great game.

I expected a win, but not a complete domination. The defense was smothering. Hope they can do the same to Tulane next week.

Also, M Marshall lost the ball twice, but the second time it was blown dead. IMO, that's the only reason he's not the starter. He must have lost the ball in practice a few times. When he gets that fixed, he'll be huge at the position.

CPJ stated he expects "some things to be cleaned up" between games 1 and 2. That can't be good news for reeling Tulane. ;)
