Georgia Tech (12-4) opens up play with a tough matchup against a 12-3 NC State team currently ranked in the Top 15.

Probable Starters:
FRI- Mason Patel (1-1, 6.94 ERA) vs. Sam Highfill (1-0, 3.86 ERA)
SAT Aeden Finateri (Jr., 3-0, 2.45 ERA) vs. Logan Whitaker (2-1, 4.42 ERA)
SUN: Logan McGuire (1-0, 4.50 ERA) vs. LHP Dominic Fritton (1-0, 6.88 ERA)

The Yellow Jackets enter Friday's matchup with the Wolfpack on a five-game winning streak, though outside of the emergence of Parker Brosius (13 RBI in the last five games) Carson Kerce locking down 3B, and the impressive start to the season Carson Ballard is on, there really isn't too much to take away from those games.

This weekend will come down to three things for GT- Plate discipline offensively, strike throwing on the mound, and defense.

Solo HR aren't going to win this game for either team.

NC State comes into the game on Friday with 17 errors, while GT has 12. The most eye-opening stat differential between the two teams is this-

NC State has 59 XBH
Georgia Tech has 75 XBH

-THREE WOLFPACK NAMES TO KNOW-

3B Alec Makarewicz - .388/.451/.600 with 34 RBI, 7 HR, and a team-high 55 total bases. 11/6 K/BB ratio

C Jacob Cozart - .375/.551/.729 with 13 RBI, 5 HR, and a team-high 19 BB. He's struck out 11 times in 48 AB

1B Garrett Pennington - .419/.507/.613 with 17 RBI and a 11/9 K/BB ratio. Pennington is the table-setter for the Pack near the top of the lineup. Not your typical 1B in 2024.

-PREDICTION-
Georgia Tech wins on Friday, as Highfill's struggles with control continue, loses on Saturday in a low-scoring game and Sunday in a more wide-open game
