It was a bit of a shit show today in Miami. The weather was not great. We got through the OL/DL bit but several key DLs no-showed, including Freddie Wilson (Spruce Creek- Port Orange, FL) who will be OVing to GT this summer so that was a bummer.
I talked to DQ Forkpa who just transferred to IMG Academy and he said that GT is out of the mix now that Tyler Santucci is in the NFL. That was his connection and point of interest in the program. So I have removed him from the offer list.
I also removed IOL Rhys Woodrow from Boone HS (Fla.). Interest has cooled off on the GT side and he hasn't heard much after they jumped in with an offer last summer. He is a center and did okay at the camp.
I was all set to talk to Larry Miles, who GT is on the outside looking in on but in his top 10 when there were four lightning strikes around the field. Needless to say we cleared the field and then it rained like 4 inches in like 45 minutes so the skill session was canceled.
I was set to talk to DBs Danny Odem (just visited) and Shareef Jackson who Alex just did a story on as well as Emari Peterson but I'll try to catch up with Odem and Peterson this week as well as Miles the old-fashioned way.
The Atlanta camp is set to be loaded and I'll be at the Dallas camp as well and both are in May.
