RECRUITING
Coach Collins remains a road warrior hitting up schools with quite the pace. Today he was once again out with CAM hitting schools. Rome HS 4-star RB Jamious Griffin got a visit and they set up his OV this weekend to GT as @Russell Johnson reported earlier today. Great chance at a flip here, CAM was a big part of why Quon Griffin came here last year and he is stepping up with Griffin now.
CAM and CGC went to Darlington to see stud 2020 OL Tate Ratledge who I'm sure CGC has offered now. That is an uphill battle, but good to see CGC going out and hitting up kids like that.
The duo went to Hillgrove HS to see 2020 five-star DE Myles Murphy and to Marietta HS to see 2020 five-star ATH Arik Gilbert, 4-star OL Jake Wray, 4-star DB Rashad Torrence II, 4-star QB Harrison Bailey and 4-star LB B.J. Ojulari. Marietta HS is LOADED in 2020, they have like 10 ranked kids already.
CGC is kicking the tires on North Carolina OL Triston Miller who just decommitted from NC State and had decommitted from Wake Forest before that. UNC is trying to squeeze out GT. Miller decommitted from State after their OL coach left to go to Louisville to work for Satterfield. GT had recruited Miller before, but he didn't want to play in the offense.
Still waiting to find out if Tomari Fox will visit this weekend or not. That was the original plan and he burned his visits to UNC and Iowa already. CGC has been working on him.
STAFF NEWS
Several recruiting including Jamious Griffin have indicated that coach Collins is telling kids he is bringing most of his Temple staff down here, but not all of them.
Manny Diaz just got that head coaching job so it is unlikely he will retain much of coach Collins old staff. Our Temple site insiders think that Collins will bring OC Dave Patenaude now as his OC. Andrew Thacker his DC is likely to come, but possibly in a different capacity, Nate Burton seems to be a shoe-in as a DB coach and Larry Knight as OLB. That would leave a spot or two for CAM and someone else. Unsure on the offensive staffing other than Stan Hixon as WR coaches. Lot of people pushing for Tashard Choice as RB coach, Chris Wiesehan was his OL coach not sure there, Ed Foley was the TE coach, unsure about him, he has been at Temple a long time. I feel like CGC may need to have a little more diversity on his staff as well. Don't expect anything until 12/28 after Temple's bowl game against Duke on the 27th. I'm still working to confirm on my end this is in fact what is happening.
