Earlier this week I was scanning through the most recent edition of the GT Campaign Quarterly philanthropy magazine. Amongst the many sizable donations made in late 2022, I noted that President and First Lady Cabrera made a generous gift to the GTAA Competitive Drive initiative. I also note that other high net worth GT benefactors that don't typically donate to athletics followed President Cabrera's lead and did likewise. It is very encouraging to see our school President setting the tone with not only words but his actions, and in this case his wallet. I was pretty amazed when GTAA was able to rally $4.9M of individual donations to this campaign during a skinny 60 day window. I think I now understand how it happened!
