Was a pretty spirited practice for this late in Spring Ball,
Lots of dings as usual with this time of year so they were rolling a ton of guys. At one point the A-offense had four different centers, Scott Morgan, Kenny Cooper, William Lay and Chet Lagod. Mike Minihan got some A-reps at LG when Coop slid to center. Minihan did pretty well, but the core 1st OL is still Quinney, Coop, S. Morgan, Southers and DeFoor.
Christian Campbell at FS today with Tariq Carpenter at SS and Kaleb Oliver/Ajani Kerr at nickel, that was a potent group.
Brad Morgan back healthy got some quality reps at NG today. Scott Morgan said it is weird going against his brother and the staff and other players really enjoy when they square off. Said he is happy for Brad to get some good playing time.
Rolled a lot of guys today at WR
X- Camp, Dolphus, Harris, Whatley
Z- Carter, Sanders, J. Jackson
Y- Brown, Blancato, Nash
Camp and Carter had really good performances during our session. Jeezy may have been involved in a deep shot to Camp for a TD (he was in the huddle joking with the players before the call) and then they hit it and he celebrated like a coach. Camp also beat Jair Hawkins-Anderson on a back shoulder throw into the end zone, used his body really well to get leverage. Carter had some great catches on crossing routes several times from various QBs.
Nose guard depth is pretty interesting, rolling Brooks, Morgan, Martin, Griffin, Lee and Fowler there.
Lucas Johnson had a good day for the part we saw. Was slinging it around in the 2-minute and red zone offense.
Rich Stanzione had a nice PBU on an end zone shot for Steve Dolphus.
Wofford coaches were there, they had my favorite reaction to anything in practice today. In the red zone offense drill they ran a famous super bowl red zone play to start the drill causing those coaching to crack up laughing and yell out, "that's how you do red zone offense!" Camp hit Lentz for a TD on the play.
Christian Campbell and Kelton Dawson did a great job on a 3rd down play getting in the backfield on a stretch play to Omahri Jarrett. Got him for a big loss.
Jaylon King ended practice with a great pick off James Graham in the end zone, tight roped against the sideline to get his feet in on an underthrown ball. King also had a tremendous PBU on a nice touch pass from Graham to Carter, just timed breaking up the ball perfectly.
McKeehan appearance at backup LT, first time I've seen him in a while.
Players were really excited about Jeezy, they were "singing" his songs on the sideline after he showed up and the DJ spun some. That certainly amp'd up practice to another level.
Talked to OLs and coach Key, AP writer was there pushing the triple option difficult transition agenda so you'll pick up on that in the videos from the session.
